Sir Kenneth Charles Branagh (b.10th December 1960) is a British actor and filmmaker. Born in Belfast and raised in Reading, Berkshire.

Kenneth Charles Branagh, son of William Harper and Frances (née Harper), was born on the 10th December 1960 in Belfast, to a Protestant family.^[1] He grew up in the Tiger's Bay area of north Belfast.^[2]

In early 1970, Branagh (aged 9) moved with his family to Reading, Berkshire to escape the Troubles.^[1][3]

Kenneth C. Branagh married Emma Thompson in a religious ceremony on the 27th August 1989 in Cliveden, Buckinghamshire, followed by a civil ceremony abroad;^[4][5][6] they divorced in 1996.^[7][8]

Branagh played Gilderoy Lockhart in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002).

Kenneth Branagh (aged 42) married on the 23rd May 2003 in a small private ceremony in Manhattan, New York.^[9][7][8]

Kenneth C. Branagh of Keepers, Bagshot Road was registered to vote in 2003-2004 in Ascot, Berkshire.^[10]

Branagh was appointed a Knight Bachelor in 2012 in Queen Elizabeth II's Birthday Honours, for services to drama and to the community in Northern Ireland.^[11]
