Colts Sign Kendall Langford

The Colts have been on a crazy pace today when it comes to signings, and they might be adding another one before long - and I'm not talking about Andre Johnson, who is in Indy visiting the Colts tonight and very well could be signed.

The Colts have officially announced that they have agreed to terms with free agent defensive lineman Kendall Langford (which was first reported by the South Florida Sun Sentinel's Omar Kelly).

Langford is a 6-6, 313 pound lineman who spent the last three seasons with the Rams after spending the first four years of his career with the Miami Dolphins.  He has notched 242 career tackles, 15.5 sacks, and 15 passes defensed.  He would likely play defensive end with the Colts, and there's a possibility that he might be replacing Cory Redding in the veteran's role.  Redding announced today that he's returning to the NFL, but it might not be with the Colts.

Obviously, this move doesn't prevent Redding from returning, but the fact that the Colts signed a guy to likely play defensive end on the first day of free agency is significant.  And according to Omar Kelly, Langford is a very good player against the run.  Either way, they've now addressed their defensive line on what has been a crazy day filled with a number of moves for the Colts.
