Universe who, what, where and when.

Who. GitHub is the home for all developers, and GitHub Universe is an opportunity for our community to explore the future of software development together. We produce Universe for enterprises, startups, open source communities, security professionals, partners, and any developer interested in discovering how GitHub can help them accelerate their development experience.

What. GitHub Universe will deliver two days of engaging sessions, discussions and interactive experiences for in-person attendees. We'll be streaming keynotes and a curated selection of live sessions on githubuniverse.com. All registered attendees will have access to recorded sessions once the event concludes.

Where and when. GitHub Universe will take place on October 28-29, 2025 at Fort Mason Center in San Francisco, CA. Broadcast times and schedule will be announced in September.

Are there speaking opportunities at GitHub Universe 2025?

Yes! There are speaking opportunities at Universe 2025. You can apply through our Call for Sessions (CFS) or the speaker nomination process. Visit our CFS page for more details. The submission window runs from Wednesday, April 9, 2025, through Friday, May 2, 2025, at 11:59 PM PT.

Which airports are closest to San Francisco?

San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is the closest major airport, an easy BART ride, or a 25-minute drive from downtown. Alternatively, the Oakland International Airport (OAK) is a 35-minute drive over the Bay Bridge and is also accessible by BART. Lastly, the San Jose International Airport (SJC) is a one-hour drive from the South Bay, accessible by Caltrain.

When will I be able to register for the event?

Registration for GitHub Universe launches in mid-May! Sign up for notifications to be the first to know when registration goes live and to stay up to date on all things GitHub Universe.
