The Tartan has been Carnegie Mellon University’s student-run newspaper since 1906. The Tartan serves the campus community of 16,500 students as well as faculty, staff and administration.

One of Carnegie Mellon’s largest student organizations, The Tartan is the preeminent media source on campus. Every week, students come together to provide news and event coverage to the University and its surrounding communities. The broadsheet newspaper is comprised of five primary sections — News, Forum, SciTech, Sports, and pillbox, which also incorporates comics.
