UNH Athletics accepting Hall of Fame nominations

DURHAMThe UNH Athletics Department is currently accepting nominations for the UNH Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2016, which will be honored in June 2016. The deadline for nominations is Friday, Oct. 23. Nominations remain actively on file for five years.

Individuals eligible for nomination must fit one of the following criteria: an undergraduate who personifies outstanding athletic achievement (graduation not a requirement); an outstanding coach or administrator; a recipient of the Joan Leitzel Contributions to Athletics Award (significant contributions in the lives of student-athletes).

N.H. wrestling officials needed

DOVER — New Hampshire Wrestling Officials Association is looking for individuals for its 2015-16 apprentice program. The program will certify the individual to referee high school, prep school and elementary school matches and tournaments. You must have a minimum of two years participation as a coach or athlete. Transfers from other organizations will also be accepted. Fill out the officials form on the NHIAA website or contact NHWOA President Rick Ross at rickross192@gmail.com or 603-396-8238.

Spaulding seeks wrestling coach

ROCHESTER — Spaulding High School is seeking a boys’ varsity wrestling head coach. Candidates should have prior coaching experience, but not required. Southern Maine Bearcats Girls AAU Basketball open tryout

NORTH BERWICK, Maine — The Southern Maine Bearcats AAU basketball program will be holding open tryouts for girls entering grades 5-8. The Southern Maine Bearcats is a premiere organization dedicated to providing the most competitive basketball experience possible. We offer a practice based program that focuses on technical skill development & game awareness.

Tryouts will take place at Noble High School, which is located at 388 Somersworth Road in North Berwick, ME 03906.

Seventh and 8th grade girls should plan to attend a two-day tryout on Sept. 29 and 30 from 5:30-8 p.m.

Fifth & 6th grade girls should plan to attend a one-day tryout on Oct. 1 from 5:30-8 p.m.
