| On May 11, 2007, the US Hockey Hall of Fame and USA Hockey came to a historic agreement that transferred rights to the selection process and induction event associated with the Hall, including the Wayne Gretzky International Award, to USA Hockey. As part of the agreement, the US Hockey Hall of Fame Museum, located in Eveleth, Minn., formed a separate Board of Directors to govern the national shrine for American Hockey. |

| The United States Hockey Hall of Fame was opened on June 21, 1973. It is dedicated to honoring the sport of ice hockey in the United States by preserving those precious memories and legends of the game. |

| There are now 165 enshrined members in the US Hockey Hall of Fame (www.ushockeyhalloffame.com). New members are inducted annually and must have made a significant contribution to hockey in the United States during the course of their career. A special Wayne Gretzky Award pays tribute to international individuals who have made major contributions to hockey in the USA. Support for the Hall comes from sponsorship, admissions. gift store sales, special events and grants from the hockey community and government agencies. |
